Loan Appointment — A Difficult Decision
Entretien de prĂȘt — Une dĂ©cision difficile
Daniel was just 21 years old and had recently started his first job.Daniel avait seulement 21 ans et venait de commencer son premier emploi.
With new responsibilities ahead, he decided to visit a lending broker to apply for a loan.Avec de nouvelles responsabilitĂ©s Ă  venir, il dĂ©cida de rendre visite Ă  un courtier pour demander un prĂȘt.
It was an important step for him, and he felt both excited and nervous.C’était une Ă©tape importante pour lui, et il se sentait Ă  la fois enthousiaste et nerveux.
Daniel sat down across the desk, looking slightly nervous.Daniel s’assit en face du bureau, l’air lĂ©gĂšrement nerveux.
The lending agent adjusted his glasses. “Good afternoon, how can I help you?”Le conseiller ajusta ses lunettes. « Bonjour, comment puis-je vous aider ? »
Daniel smiled politely. “Hello, my name is Daniel. I need to finance some upcoming projects, so I’d like to discuss applying for a loan.”Daniel sourit poliment. « Bonjour, je m’appelle Daniel. Je dois financer quelques projets Ă  venir et j’aimerais discuter d’une demande de prĂȘt. »
The agent nodded. “Alright. What is the purpose of the loan?”Le conseiller hocha la tĂȘte. « TrĂšs bien. Quel est l’objectif de ce prĂȘt ? »
Daniel replied, “I need it to buy a car and cover some other expenses.”Daniel rĂ©pondit : « J’en ai besoin pour acheter une voiture et couvrir quelques autres dĂ©penses. »
The agent looked attentive. “What kind of expenses?”Le conseiller sembla attentif. « Quel genre de dĂ©penses ? »
Daniel explained, “I also want to pay for an IT training course.”Daniel expliqua : « Je veux aussi financer une formation en informatique. »
He added, “And I have a few personal expenses as well.”Il ajouta : « Et j’ai aussi quelques dĂ©penses personnelles. »
The agent asked, “Such as?”Le conseiller demanda : « Par exemple ? »
Daniel hesitated. “A birthday gift for a family member
 and small things.”Daniel hĂ©sita. « Un cadeau d’anniversaire pour un membre de ma famille
 et quelques petites choses. »
The agent wrote something down. “I see.”Le conseiller nota quelque chose. « Je vois. »
He continued, “Do you currently have a stable income?”Il poursuivit : « Avez-vous actuellement un revenu stable ? »
Daniel nodded. “Yes, but it’s not very high.”Daniel hocha la tĂȘte. « Oui, mais il n’est pas trĂšs Ă©levĂ©. »
The agent asked, “Are you saving any money at the moment?”Le conseiller demanda : « Épargnez-vous de l’argent en ce moment ? »
Daniel looked uncomfortable. “Not really.”Daniel sembla mal Ă  l’aise. « Pas vraiment. »
The agent paused. “That is important.”Le conseiller marqua une pause. « C’est important. »
He added, “A loan requires regular repayments.”Il ajouta : « Un prĂȘt nĂ©cessite des remboursements rĂ©guliers. »
Daniel nodded slowly. “I understand.”Daniel hocha lentement la tĂȘte. « Je comprends. »
The agent continued, “If you are not saving now, how will you manage monthly payments?”Le conseiller poursuivit : « Si vous n’épargnez pas maintenant, comment allez-vous gĂ©rer les paiements mensuels ? »
Daniel replied, “I expect my situation to improve soon.”Daniel rĂ©pondit : « Je pense que ma situation va bientĂŽt s’amĂ©liorer. »
The agent raised an eyebrow. “We need clear and reliable information.”Le conseiller leva un sourcil. « Nous avons besoin d’informations claires et fiables. »
He asked, “Do you have any savings or financial reserves?”Il demanda : « Avez-vous des Ă©conomies ou des rĂ©serves financiĂšres ? »
Daniel shook his head. “No.”Daniel secoua la tĂȘte. « Non. »
The agent leaned back. “To be honest, this makes approval difficult.”Le conseiller s’appuya en arriĂšre. « Pour ĂȘtre honnĂȘte, cela rend l’approbation difficile. »
Daniel looked worried. “So it’s not possible?”Daniel sembla inquiet. « Donc ce n’est pas possible ? »
The agent replied carefully, “At this moment, it does not look very promising.”Le conseiller rĂ©pondit prudemment : « Pour le moment, cela ne semble pas trĂšs prometteur. »
He added, “However, I will discuss your case with my manager.”Il ajouta : « Cependant, je vais discuter de votre dossier avec mon responsable. »
“There might be a possibility for an exception.”« Il pourrait y avoir une possibilitĂ© d’exception. »
Daniel nodded. “Thank you, I appreciate that.”Daniel hocha la tĂȘte. « Merci, j’apprĂ©cie cela. »
The agent said, “We will contact you soon.”Le conseiller dit : « Nous vous contacterons bientĂŽt. »
Daniel stood up, unsure about the outcome.Daniel se leva, incertain du résultat.
The agent said, “I now have your payslips, tax documents, and your latest bank statement.”Le conseiller dit : « J’ai maintenant vos fiches de paie, vos documents fiscaux et votre dernier relevĂ© bancaire. »
He raised his eyebrows slightly and added, “We will review everything this week in line with our risk assessment policies.”Il leva lĂ©gĂšrement les sourcils et ajouta : « Nous examinerons tout cela cette semaine conformĂ©ment Ă  nos politiques d’évaluation des risques. »
He added, “Let’s meet again next week.”Il ajouta : « Retrouvons-nous la semaine prochaine. »
Daniel said, “Okay, that sounds good.”Daniel dit : « D’accord, ça me va. »
